Genital Candidiasis

It is an infection caused by the overgrowth of the candida albicans or monilia fungus. It is quite normal for this type of fungus in the genital region, when there is a weakening of the immune system or prolonged use of any specific medication, the fungus develops in excess and generates whitish plaques, intense itching, swelling and discomfort in intimate contact.
Candidiasis is a yeast with extensive diffusion that installs itself harmlessly on the skin and mucous membranes, until heat, humidity and changes in local or systemic defenses provide a fertile field for its development.
Risk factors for the onset of candidiasis:
. unprotected sex
. Tight clothes
. Long wet bikini

. Gestation
🇧🇷 HIV
. Cancer
. Recurrent use of antibiotics

Candidiasis manifests itself in women, but it can also appear in men, its treatment can be done with ointments or medicines that eliminate the fungus.
During the period of candidiasis it is recommended:
. Wear cotton underwear.
. Wash the genital area only with water and mild soap.
. Sleeping without underwear.
. Avoid tampons.
. Avoid unprotected sexual intercourse.
Candidiasis loves sugar, during this period it is recommended to have a diet low in sugar. Avoiding alcoholic beverages also helps to clear up candidiasis.
To accurately detect candidiasis requires a clinical examination with the specialist or a microscopic examination of the discharge.
