How have I affected the other?
posted by Deva Harischandra Jessica
Our words and actions affect the people around us in the most varied ways, whether in deep relationships or even when we come across strangers on a daily basis.
The fact is that the way we treat those who are close to us affects. It might be interesting to take a look at the way in which our attitudes and words have affected the people we live with or even cross our path at some point.
My actions generate in others:
smiles?
Reception?
Safety?
Tranquility?
Acceptance?
amorousness?
Tenderness?
Peace?
Happiness?
Lightness?
Open dialogue?
Receptivity?
Learning in love?
aid?
Or...
Fault?
Non-acceptance?
judgments?
coldness?
Contempt?
Rage?
Hatred?
Insecurity?
Pain?
Hurt?
Emotional wounds?
Repression?
Evil attitudes?
Ridicule?
repulsion?
If we can stop for a while to understand and analyze the answer to the question contained in the title of the text, we can assess how our presence has affected the people and environments that surround us.
If the answers are always in a sense of elevating the other, of inclusion and of love, wonderful!
But if not, it is a warning that we must change, and change urgently. We are collaborative rather than competitive beings, although most of us have learned that we are.
I take to the other what I have inside me. If I've been taking pain and suffering, it's important to look inside, get to know myself and realize what leads me to distribute negativity wherever I go. If this has happened, something inside me screams for healing, for relief, for dissolving.
With our energetic vibration, we have the power to influence the people and environments we encounter. May our presence be nourishing and not destructive, may we contribute to the flourishing of the other and not the other way around.
Simple and generous attitudes have immense transformative power. Smiles, kindness, welcoming looks, understanding, affectionate attitudes, hugs, sweetness, loving words, a care, a help, inspiring confidence, being a safe haven... They can be everyday actions of people that affect others in a way very positive and that may be easier than they seem to put into practice.
May we know how to look inside ourselves with tenderness, recognize and face our shadows, heal our pain, so we don't go around distributing what bad affects us in life, so we don't bleed on people who have nothing to do with it.
May we find our flowers within us, access inner love and be able, with joy, to distribute the best wherever we go, affecting people and places in a way that caresses the heart and transmits peace to the soul of those we meet in life.
