Uncovering Tantric Education
Pillars of Safety, Ethics and Empowerment for a Conscious Therapeutic Journey

Out of curiosity, do you know the origin and meaning of the word education? The word "education" comes from the Latin "educare", which means "to lead out". This refers to the idea that education has the power to help people develop their full potential and abilities, leading them out of their ignorance and limitations, becoming fundamental to human development, as it allows people to better understand the world around them, acquire skills to deal with life's challenges and develop values and principles that help guide their actions.
You don't even need a lot of time to identify with this idea, do you? And that's what a Tantric Educator does, which is why I'm very proud to welcome you to our egregore.
Tantric Education is based on four fundamental pillars: safety, ethics, respect and consent. These pillars aim to promote a responsible and therapeutic environment, both for the interactant (patient) and for the educator. They are implemented from the beginning of the follow-up until the end, and compliance with these behaviors is essential to demystify the tantric approach, making it more accessible and reliable for those who wish to explore its practices.
These pillars began to be developed when we, humanist teachers at the Aos Caminhos school, a few years ago, realized the importance of consent in the therapeutic process. This clarity, in the midst of a harmful environment in which Tantric Therapy was inserted, was a watershed. We realize that our approach is not a dictatorship of orgasm, harmful boundary breaking, mystery and mysticism. We want Tantric Education to promote autonomy, enabling people to make independent decisions and act according to their own will, thus providing empowerment, freedom, confidence in who they are.
Safety: Safety ensures that the therapeutic process is carried out responsibly, minimizing physical and emotional risks for the parties involved, tantric educator and practitioner. The educator must always be aware of their professional conduct so that the therapeutic process is safe and beneficial, ensuring that the person feels supported throughout the therapeutic process.
Ethics: Ethics ensures that the educator acts within clear limits, avoiding inappropriate or harmful behaviors for the practitioner. This includes issues such as privacy, confidentiality and the exploration of tantric practices in a consensual and safe environment. When ethics are taken seriously, they serve as a guide that establishes healthy limits and expectations, which allows the therapeutic process to become a space for personal growth and transformation.
Respect: Respect involves treating the interactant with dignity and consideration, regardless of their beliefs, values or life history. Respect is a commitment to accept and value others, respecting their choices and limitations, without judgment or criticism. When the educator demonstrates respect, he/she creates an environment of trust and acceptance for the interactant, allowing him/her to be recognized as a unique individual and valued in his/her individuality.
Consent: Consent implies an open and transparent dialogue between the educator and practitioner, in which both have space to express their expectations, desires, limits, concerns, etc. The educator must always inform about the practices to be carried out, allowing the interactant to make a conscious and informed decision about participating in the proposed activities. This means that the interactant has the power to choose the practices to be carried out, guaranteeing individual autonomy and freedom.
