Delayed Ejaculation

Delayed Ejaculation (ejaculatio retardata), called Masters' and Johnson's "ejaculatory disability", can be defined as an inhibition of the ejaculatory reflex, making the ejaculatory act delayed or difficult to happen.

A man suffering from delayed ejaculation normally responds to sexual stimuli with a firm erection, however, he is unable to ejaculate. Although he wants orgasmic relief, even if he receives adequate stimulation to trigger the orgasmic reflex, he cannot.

In its mild form, ejaculatory inhibition is associated with situations that cause anxiety. Many men who suffer from delayed ejaculation at the time of sex with a partner, achieve this more easily with manual stimulation (masturbation).
