Endometriosis

It is an enemy that often goes unnoticed, affects women and leads to several complications if left untreated. Some articles I read report that every 10 women (of reproductive age) at least 1 suffers from endometriosis, in my social life I have a friend who suffers from this disease.
The inner layer of the uterus (endometrium) is the part responsible for the shedding of the uterus, when this happens women menstruate. In the case of endometriosis, the endometrium moves to other parts of the body, when the endometrium is lodged somewhere it sticks, inflames and responds to hormones monthly, as it is not possible to menstruate through other organs, it causes an inflammatory reaction (causing internal scarring, adhesion and injuries).
Some of the most common symptoms of endometriosis are cramps, chronic pelvic pains are frequent, and hands are latent before and during the menstrual period. Some women may experience pain during intercourse and afterward, endometriosis also makes it difficult to get pregnant.
A woman with this condition has her life totally affected, she can suffer from cramps for 6 months in a row, it can trigger anxiety, depression and frustration with infertility. In addition her mood suffers from inconstancy and all this can lead to constipation and gas.
The cause of the disease is multifactorial, involves genetic, hormonal factors and wrong diet, sedentary lifestyle and even body fat rate.
Laparoscopy, ultrasound, MRI, blood analysis are needed to find the diagnosis. In the preventive, sometimes one can already suspect
Treatment depends on the degree and stage of the disease, but includes the use of contraceptives, analgesics, rest, adopting healthy habits, pelvic physiotherapy. Surgery is indicated if there is no improvement in symptoms.
