Shakti Energy in Tantra

In the previous article, ”The awakening of the sacred feminine ”, I promised that I would talk more about Shakti energy or feminine energy in Tantra, but what does it represent? In a simple and brief explanation, if I had to describe Tantra, I would say it is about awakening consciousness. This is a very simplified way. The main objective of Tantra is liberation and freedom, called enlightenment. However, for that to happen, we need a fuel, which Shakti energy really is.

But what is Shakti?

Most people don't quite understand what Tantra and Shakti represents. For some it is just a way of having sex in different positions like Kamasutra. This is because of New Age Tantra, which we will talk about later. There is a mix of shamanism, sacred sexuality and Hindu Tantra. This has nothing to do with the original Tantric teachings. The main concentration there is the opening for more pleasure. In Tantra, it represents the sacred feminine and it is about awakening our Higher Self, spiritual growth and healing.

The concept of Shakti is often not used, because not everyone has access to original knowledge and this energy. It is an extremely healing and powerful energy. Development is needed to have access to it; that is, people who have the experience of transformations and cures. Only those people with this experience can purify their energetic body to channel Shakti energy.

Shakti is a creative energy of the universe, which cannot be destroyed, it is a powerful fuel for growth and transformation for those who awaken it. One of the main benefits of this energy is healing. As soon as it wakes up in the body and starts to move from the bottom up, all the obstacles dissolve. Emotional and physical healing is experienced. If we want to have this awakening more abundantly in our lives, that energy is the answer.

Another benefit of awakening that energy is this deep connection with ourselves. We become more sensitive beings, connected to our inner truth. A very particular feeling, which cannot be translated with words. Tantric experiences are developed to awaken you and to access creative energy. It is about being able to create the life you want to have.
