I want a moon bath ...

Undeniable to say that we are not cyclical beings and do not follow the movements of a lunar, solar calendar, week after week, month after month, year after year. Being Shiva (man) or Shakti (woman) we have the inclement weather, the seasons, and more than that, day by day we have an enormous tendency of lunar and solar dances on our movements and bodies.

Don't you believe in this movement? Look at you, putting on a cardigan while a smart little cold arrives from the change of season. This cycle also accompanies the wheel of the zodiac, 4 seasons, 4 elements that govern the life of the physical body of the planet and of us humans: earth, water, fire and air, along with the 12 months of the year, 12 signs, 12 archetypes of energies where sun and moon do a dynamic dance of balance of yin and yang, day and night, female and male.

This month in particular, the lunation has caused me to deepen my cycle, and this year more than especially 2020, where there is a great incentive movement for collective and individual changes, mainly regarding our shadows being exposed, the dance of sun and moon follow a cycle of agreement in which it has not occurred for a long time. The sun enters a sign and soon afterwards the moon also enters, marking the cycle of the new moon.

This synchronicity is not free, nor is it random, there are no coincidences in the universe, the cycles follow a perfect cadence and it is up to us, to offer the chance to take advantage of each trend that these cycles incline our achievements.

The Moon is the representation of female energy and it influences the waters and the tides, we humans are 70% water and therefore directly influenced by it and mainly through our menstrual cycle. As well as its four phases, we also have our peak of creative and sexual energy that is gradually diluted until our menstrual phase, where we collect ourselves similar to New Moon to start the cycle again and generate something new.

In matriarch times, it didn’t take many scientific studies to understand this connection, it was something natural for the woman, she perceived herself and knew herself through that connection and thus arose the archetypes of the Elder Goddess (New Moon), Goddess Maiden (Crescent Moon), Mother Goddess (Full Moon) and the Witch Goddess (Waning Moon), until returning again to the Elder Goddess and beginning a new period of cyclical energies.

Our internal cycles also dance with the external cycle and allow us to be in harmony with different energies for balance, analysis and empowerment of ourselves. Feel your rhythm and allow yourself to know and see yourself as you see the moon itself.

The Elder Goddess - New Moon - The Menstruation - the Earth Element Cycle

The endometrium, where the embryo should nest, breaks and falls. The fluid descends from the inside of the uterus, through the cervix and is expelled through the vagina. A normal menstrual period lasts between 3 and 7 days. The menstrual phase and the Black Moon (new) are personified by the old woman, the ugly old witch, the old woman knew, an archetype hidden from the world in a magical hut deep in the forest. The period is suitable to isolate yourself, slow down, withdraw to find answers and solutions to problems, transmute energies, receive messages and spiritual guidance. In this phase, the woman becomes receptive to old memories and knowledge, to revisit her past, to become reflexive by recognizing its structures, stirring the cauldron and drinking from the sacred cup transmuting sexual energy into ecstatic experiences and the expansion of consciousness.

The Maiden Goddess - Crescent Moon - Follicular Phase - The Water Element Cycle

The ovaries begin to secrete estrogen and progesterone. While estrogen thickens the endometrium where the conceived embryo will nest, progesterone keeps the walls of the uterus intact. The maiden's archetype brings the dynamic energies of the crescent moon and the pre-ovulatory phase. She is safe, sociable, determined, ambitious; achieves good results in his work and can start new projects with enthusiasm and energy. Your time is to learn, listen, discover and experiment. This water energy from the maiden goddess is conducive to emotional healing and also for introspection of the attitudes to be taken for the next phases.

The Mother Goddess - Full Moon - Ovular Phase - The Fire Element Cycle

In the fertile period, follicle-stimulating hormone (FHS) and luteinizing hormone (LH) are released. The first allows the eggs to develop in the ovary and the second releases one of the mature eggs. The mother archetype brings the full and abundant energy of the full moon and the ovulation phase. It prepares women for the selflessness of motherhood and she becomes loving and engaging, willing to take responsibility, make decisions, make changes, take care of others, make projects, achieve ideals, attract people and share love. In this phase, the woman understands herself in the attitude of receptivity and in action, puts into practice projects, ideas and everything that she can provide for herself and in this cycle and that also bear fruit in others.

The Witch Goddess - Waning Moon - Pre-Mentragem - The Cycle of the Air element

It is the fourth phase of the menstrual cycle and just after ovulation. If the egg is not fertilized by a sperm, the surface of the endometrium is no longer needed and is preparing to be eliminated. The cycle is completed and menstruation will begin again. The diminishing energies of the premenstrual phase and the waning moon are personified by the sorceress archetype - the beautiful, mature and sexy sorceresses. The woman experiences the height of her power, sensual, seductive and magical. Their energies expand and can manifest themselves ambivalently as creative or destructive. Your intuition is heightened, but your concentration is reduced. This phase requires tenacity and patience to achieve visions and weave projects to elevate your ideas and thoughts.

Each phase of our cycle is associated with a Goddess, and her energies can affect the way we think, the way we feel and also our physical energy level. Women who no longer menstruate, who have not yet menstruated and even those who no longer have a uterus live these four phases too, in a different way and sometimes less intensely, but they do. Just observe yourself and gradually feel the rhythm of your own body. Weekly or daily notes help a lot to refine this perception, and also to understand the conversation of the Inner Goddess with the External Goddess, the Moon itself. Our menstruation is an irregular cycle and with that we will always dance from one phase of the moon to another, talking with our internal needs and with what the environment provides, (re) knowing your personal pattern and how your body dances according to the rhythm of the Moon.
