Introduction to the Family Constellation
posted by Agni Maharani (Tina)
It is a technique created and developed by the German Berth Hellinger (psychologist) in 1992.
It aims to bring issues from the unconscious to the conscious, this therapeutic practice is able to access family conflicts that span generations.
The dynamics can be done in groups or individually. The constellated person watches his story and analyzes his question, being represented by the people he chose. In the individual dynamics it is possible to use miniatures of dolls or any objects to represent the roles of the system.
It is a complementary practice to psychotherapy, including SUS (Unified Health System) already authorized for this purpose. In the same way that it does not dispense with the use of medications and psychiatric treatment for certain pathologies.
It aims to work on relationships, be it loving, professional and mainly father / mother. It is possible to work on structural issues, such as justice processes for example.
During the constellation it is common for the constellate to encounter repetitive patterns from his ancestors, even though he never met them. According to Hellinger, the descendants end up repeating their destiny, albeit unconsciously.
It is worth remembering that each one has their own moment, time and path for transformation. In practice, we use specific systemic healing phrases. These phrases resonate internally and help to reinterpret pain, hurt, anger and conflict. The constellation gives space to emotion and the goal is to reach understanding.
The dynamics time can vary from 20 minutes to 1h30. It doesn't take two sessions, a single session is enough to constellate. Participants need to make themselves available. The constellate watches the entire constellation and at the end the constellator asks him to take his place, so that only the person chosen to represent leaves the field.
The constellation is based on 3 concepts:
Law of belonging: all members have the right to belong. This includes aborted, stillborn children or relatives that many do not like.
Law of order: we respect all those who came before (hierarchy)
Law of balance: there is a natural order between giving and receiving.
