Brainwash

We have always heard of brainwashing as something negative, a reform of thought imposed on people, changing their beliefs and attitudes about certain subjects or dogmas.
Today we are going to talk about brainwashing as something positive.
There are in our minds, an infinity of beliefs that we acquire throughout life and we don't even question ourselves about them, we just accept them as absolute truths. We are full of them in several aspects: about who we are, about what we have to do in life, about success, about love, about forming a family in a certain model, about right and wrong, about standards to be followed, about religion and spirituality, about freedom, about justice, about the flow of life, about ancestry, about diversity, about violence, about crimes, about studies, about being a right person, about good and evil, about nature, about food, about work, about sexuality, about leisure, and about a lot of other things ...
Sometimes, these beliefs are very destructive, repressive, limiting, violent, and make us see life as something to push ourselves, we believe that “it’s like that” and we will survive until the day of our death, with some moments of happiness and a multitude of hardness and bitterness.
It is possible to clear the mind of these beliefs, and it is in this sense that we are talking about brainwashing. Remove all this rubbish that was passed on to us and we appropriate it.
On pages 172 and 173 of the book “Autobiography of a spiritually incorrect mystic”, Osho says:
“And what's wrong with brainwashing? You must wash your brain every day, keep it clean. Does anyone like cockroaches? When I wash people's brains, I find cockroaches. They are very special animals. It has been scientifically proven that where there are men, there are also cockroaches. They are always together, they are the oldest companions.
What do you have in your brain? If you have cockroaches in your brain, washing it is perfectly right. But people have given it a very wrong connotation. Those are the wrong people.
Christians are afraid that someone will brainwash other Christians because then they will no longer be Christians. Hindus are afraid, because then these people will no longer be Hindus. Muslims are afraid and communists are afraid. Everyone is afraid of brainwashing, but I am absolutely in favor of it. There is an old saying that cleanliness is close to God. Now there is no God, so only cleaning is left. Cleanliness is God.
I'm not afraid of brainwashing because I'm not putting cockroaches on anyone's head. I am giving them an opportunity to have a clear mind, and anyone with a clear mind does not allow anyone to throw trash and manure into it. These are the criminals.
Brainwashing is not a crime. Who got the brain dirty? Soiling another person's mind is a crime, but all religions, all political leaders, use their mind as a toilet. These bad companions condemn brainwashing, but they are a perfectly beneficial activity.
I am a brainwasher, and those who come to me must have the clear idea that they are looking for a man who is sure to brainwash them to clean their minds of all kinds of cockroaches. Hindus, Muslims and Christians are against me for the simple reason that they keep introducing their cockroaches and I keep washing people's minds. It is simply a modern religious laundry. ”
May we allow ourselves to wash our brains of all beliefs that bring us feelings of guilt, pain, disapproval, comparison, that force us to be who we are not and to strive to do the things we have no desire to do. And that with a clean brain, we can continue joyful, with a vibrant heart, the spirit of a child, aware that life is celebration, growth, learning, exchange, partnership, love, acceptance, flow, delivery, fun, unity and that we see and allow ourselves to live all its beauty, surrendered to the flow of existence.
