Metaphysics of Health
Metaphysics is the Science that studies the origin, the cause of the aspects presented in real life, in what we call reality, what our five senses are capable of capturing. It deals with the essence of things. The true being of things, despite the appearances they may have or the changes that may happen (CANAL AQUINATE, 2018). Re-discussed until today and not very easily understood, Metaphysics seeks to reach an understanding of what goes beyond sensory perceptions.
The fact is that health is not the opposite of illness and vice versa, neither on an individual nor a collective level. Many times an individual who lives with some pathology, considers himself well, willing, able to contribute to the collective; while another considered healthy, in the sense of absence of disease, is not willing to live (ALMEIDA FILHO, 2000). Therefore, we see that health, being or being healthy is something comprehensive and must be analyzed from various perspectives, which leads us to realize that the parameters established by tests or questionnaires that aim to measure how healthy someone is not always reflect the truth or reality .
As we have seen, the ancients already understood that the balance of a healthy life depended on how the individual perceived life and interacted with it. Therefore, when the flow of natural events was interrupted by traumatic emotional and psychological events and these episodes were not well elaborated, understood, and released, disease set in.
Currently, we are privileged to retake this knowledge and include it in therapeutic practices. We are moving towards integration, towards the integrative, towards the resumption of the holistic view and this implies including everything and not excluding anything, as Bert Hellinger (1925-2019), the greatest name in the systemic family constellation, would say.
If on the one hand, the history of medicine shows that it started from a point where the human being was cared for in its entirety, in a holistic way, to another in which it is studied in parts, fragmenting its essence into small, studied pieces, each by its specialist, there is a need to rescue the look at the human portions that are not visible, their emotional, mental and spiritual aspects.
Health is not when we get sick, we take medicine and get better. Health is a healthy immune system, reflected by the balance of the emotional system and coherent, lucid thinking, which comes when we allow ourselves to live our truths, take care of ourselves, and love and prioritize ourselves regardless of any external issue.
