Orgasm and its therapeutic effect

Orgasm corresponds to a concentration of bioelectric discharges that travel through the body, generating muscle contractions, followed by intense relaxation and pleasure. Usually appearing after stimuli from erogenous zones, orgasm, when approaching, changes the chemistry of our brain, which alters our entire perception and, given a certain intensity, can lead us to other states of consciousness. It stimulates the production of several hormones, such as dopamine, which helps to regulate our mood, cognition and memory, or oxytocin, known as the love hormone - also released in situations like when a mother has her baby, or when the father holds the child in her arms.

The female orgasm and the male orgasm have specific characteristics, as well as similarities.

The female orgasm

This subject has been of interest to mankind for a long time. Orgasm was the subject of studies by Hippocrates and Galen (400 BC) and also by Avicenna and Maimonides in the Middle Ages. It is reported in the literature that they have created therapeutic methods for the stimulation of genital tissues and the triggering of orgasm. The theme is not new and these practices became common, being used until the 30s, approximately. At that time, doctors prescribed orgasm as a therapeutic resource to treat women with various illnesses, the most common being hysteria, (a convenient and comprehensive "diagnosis" given to women who were "unable" to conform to the conventions determined by society ). Orgasm, or "medical massage", was regularly prescribed.

In the XNUMXth century, Freud outlined an analysis of orgasm - more precisely about female orgasm - which would serve as the basis for a number of theories as well as criticisms. Separating the female orgasm between the clitoral orgasm and the vaginal orgasm, Freud postulated that only a mature woman would reach vaginal orgasm and that the clitoral orgasm would be present in the lives of women of immature psyche. While these two phenomena do exist in distinct ways, their main distinction is the stimulated erogenous zone. It is also a mistake to imagine that the female orgasm is so limited; women can feel orgasmic sensation with stimulation throughout the body. It's called the expanded orgasm.

Unfortunately, after Sigmund Freud's theories, Western medicine abolished the therapeutic resource of orgasm and started to use only psychotherapy.

The male orgasm

Men tend to reach orgasm more quickly than women. However, according to two American researchers from the 60s - Masters and Johnson - men are unable to have multiple orgasms because after this peak of arousal, there follows a moment of relaxation in which the erection falls apart. This moment is called the refractory period and has a different duration for each individual, given certain conditions such as fitness, age, etc.

As it is faster, it is said that the male orgasm is also shorter than the female orgasm. While the first tends to last between 3 to 10 seconds, women can experience the orgasmic sensation for up to a minute. But it's not all about differences: just like women, men can also experience expanded orgasm, chaining bioelectric reactions throughout the body. And, even experiencing a refractory moment that makes penetration difficult, the sensitivity of the penis and glans can also be stimulated to make men experience the so mysterious multiple orgasms.

Multiple orgasms

Much is said about this so misunderstood and magical moment. Attributed essentially to women, multiple orgasms appear when the electrical discharges from orgasm do not cease at the first peak of excitation, remaining frequent, with greater or lesser intensity. Like waves of pleasure that follow, multiple orgasms are seen today as a mystery, as a natural phenomenon that you may or may not be lucky enough to encounter in your life. Some achieve it, others do not, thus, in a definitive and arbitrary way.

It should be noted that we all have the ability to experience multiple orgasms, dry orgasms (without ejaculation), valley orgasms (in which the peak energy does not fall abruptly, but remains stable), as well as the expanded orgasm, which spreads bioelectricity all over our body. Even men, don't lose hope; you are also able to experience the wonderful and unparalleled sensations of multiple orgasms so famous among women.

What happens is that we are not prepared for this. We hope that these orgasms happen naturally and spontaneously - usually hoping that a partner will appear with the seductive powers necessary to bring us to such an experience. We don't even imagine that we can train our bodies to achieve these high levels of bioelectricity. As an athlete prepares for a great physical challenge, toning his muscles, developing the elasticity and concentration necessary for his sport, it is also possible to prepare the body to reach orgasms of greater intensity, as many as multiple orgasms when the orgasm expanded. And, of course, the more intense these moments are, the bigger and stronger are the therapeutic effects that orgasm unleashes on our body.

The therapeutic effect of orgasm

Orgasm is one of the best and most efficient treatments for regulating hormonal disorders. It is a natural and free resource, available to men and women in any age group, from the maturity of their sexual centers.

According to a study published by the University of Michigan, orgasm increases estrogen levels and releases oxytocin, reducing cortisol, the main chronic high stress hormone, a very common condition among women of all times, but especially nowadays, in that the demand for responsibilities on women has grown considerably.

In addition to reducing blood cortisol levels, oxytocin levels increase 5-fold after a strong orgasmic experience. Higher levels of oxytocin make you feel happy, while low levels of oxytocin are related to depression and lower levels of thyroid hormone. Oxytocin also tightens the emotional bond between mother and baby and between partners.

In other words, orgasm helps the holy trinity - cortisol, estrogen and thyroid - to remain in balance. And there's more…

Orgasm reduces pain in half, without changing sensitivity. It increases fertility by increasing the negative pressure inside the uterus - when oxytocin is released after orgasm, uterine contractions increase the suction of semen in the cervix. In addition, oxytocin can increase bone density, preventing bone diseases such as osteoporosis, which are much more common in women than in men.

Anyone who wants to maintain a perfect functional balance needs intense doses of orgasms. The lack of orgasm or unsatisfactory orgasms cause imbalances in the physical body, mind, emotions and the spiritual dimension of being. Both men and women need a healthy dose of orgasms. And the best part of this remedy is that there is no contraindication - it is your body finding balance with itself.

The expanded orgasm

Most people know only the genital orgasm (clitoral or penile). Not only lay people, but even all research that is conducted on the subject ends up leaving out other possibilities. It is important that everyone knows that the orgasm can acquire greater intensity and duration, and can be much broader than what is normally known, which lasts a few seconds.

The characteristics that define expanded orgasm are energetic sensations and contractions throughout the body, especially in the abdomen, internal muscles, hands and feet, and of course, in the genitals, as described by Reich in his 1942 book, The Function of Orgasm.

This full-body orgasm, called the Expanded Orgasm, is an orgasm that has more intensity and a longer duration than the orgasmic sensations normally described, as seen in the studies by Wilhelm Reich. They are orgasms that can last from a few minutes to a few hours. The term was coined in 1995 by Patricia Taylor, who started using it after researching intense sexual experiences with 44 couples from different backgrounds. Dr. Taylor describes in her research reports, cases of practitioners entering altered states of consciousness, which made them feel a strong emotional release and rejuvenation, profound spiritual experiences, a consciousness that is not usually noticed during ordinary orgasms, and the perception of bioenergy expanding far beyond the body's own limits. We found reports of similar experiences in studies by Dr. Jenny Wade and David Deida. Dr. Taylor says that men are just as likely as women to enter these states and have these same experiences.

Additionally, both Brauer and Bodansky deal with expanded male orgasm. Theories on the biological processes required to enter these states include progressive and balanced stimulation and elevation of the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems.

How to reach expanded orgasm

It is necessary to prepare the body to be able to produce all the bioelectricity necessary to reach an expanded orgasm. Masturbation and sexual intercourse - as we were taught (and conditioned) - do not develop our bodies to sustain the high levels of energy needed for expanded orgasmic sensation.

The Metamorphosis Center's Orgasmic Therapy - besides presenting the therapeutic effect as an exceptional option for innumerable sexual dysfunctions - trains and develops our body to be able to reach and sustain an energetic potential necessary for the experience of expanded orgasm. For that, it is necessary to create new synopses in our brain, giving a new meaning to our relationship with touch, perceiving our whole body with more attention, more delivery and much more love. And, of course, orgasmic therapy sounds much better and less risky than many therapies that are applied through artificial hormones and antidepressants, which cause frightening side effects, some with irreversible consequences, don't they?
