The Sexuality Project of the University of São Paulo (Prosex), at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (USP), concluded a sad research for the female universe: half of the Brazilians do not access orgasm during sexual relations.
The survey heard 3000 participants aged between 18 and 70 years, divided into 5 age groups. Volunteers from 7 metropolitan regions of the country were evaluated: São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Belém, Porto Alegre and the Federal District.
In the study, 55% have difficulty reaching orgasm. Among the main causes, 67% feel pain in the relationship. This brings up the following question: the number of anorgasmic women is still high and the number of women who feel pain at the time of sexual intercourse with their partner is even greater.
According to the website Pleasure - school with the mission of supporting women to empower their bodies through female pleasure. we got access to important data. Through a survey of 29 different questions and anonymously, a sample group of 1370 women from different Brazilian cities answered questions related to female sexuality with questions for example:
- "Have you ever pretended to orgasm?"
"What do you call your genital?",
"Have you ever suffered any abuse?"
According to psychoanalyst Mariana Stock, founder of Prazerela, it was found that, for them, talking about sex is also talking about health, self-esteem, security and education, in addition to a legitimate search for more female pleasure".
It is noteworthy in this research that only 16% of women say they have feminine pleasure in penetration with a couple.
When asked about the way they have the most pleasure, 27% say it is when the partner has oral sex, 22% when they are touched on the clitoris and 10% when they are stimulated on the vulva.
When it comes to masturbation, 70% like to touch the clitoris directly, with 67% using only their hands and 21% using a vibrator.
Only 16% have female pleasure in penetration, while almost 60% report that the greatest source of female pleasure is in external stimulation of the genital, contrary to what the male-oriented script says.
As much as many women already feel free and well resolved to talk about sex, what the research brought is that part of the respondents still has some kind of limitation or difficulty in exposing sexuality issues.
Only 43% of them talk openly with their partners about the topic. Another fact makes clear the inequality in female and male pleasure.
The survey asked about the frequency of orgasms during masturbation and also during sex: 74% of women said they had orgasms whenever they masturbate, while only 36% said they had frequent orgasms during sex.
