Who are you?

Do you know how to answer that question? Do you believe that everyone who says they know you and like you will answer that question in a similar way?
Most of us work so hard to build an image around ourselves, we wear ourselves out to keep it, and deep down people see their own reflection. If they see qualities in you it is because they have them. If something in you bothers them a lot, it is because they repress that same characteristic in themselves, do not accept themselves with it and condemn the other.
We function as mirrors for each other. Start observing yourself, and when something in someone pleases you very much, make you admire them, recognize their qualities and attitudes, realize that you also have them, pay attention to how much these things make sense to you.
In the same way, when he reproaches the other person's characteristics and attitudes with a harsh judge's look, in an indignant way, as if it were totally absurd the way he acts, there are also his shadows, well hidden in his being.
When something in the other bothers us a lot, let us be aware. It is a radar that tells us what we need to work on ourselves, whether it be the same characteristics and attitudes of the other, or tolerance and understanding with the level of consciousness of others.
On page 165 of the book “Autobiography of a spiritually incorrect mystic”, Osho answers the question “Who are you?” As follows:
“Whoever you want to think I am, because it depends on you. If you look at me with total emptiness, I will be one way. If you look at me with ideas, those ideas will color me. If you come to me with prejudice, then I will be different. I'm just a mirror. Your own face will be reflected in it. There is a saying that if a monkey looks in the mirror he will not find an apostle looking at him. You will find only a monkey.
So, that answer depends on the way you look at me. I disappeared completely, so I cannot impose who I am. I have nothing to impose. There is only emptiness, a mirror. You have complete freedom. If you really want to know who I am, you need to be absolutely empty as I am. Then, two mirrors will be looking at each other. But, if you have any ideas, then you will see your own idea in me. ”
Why worry so much about your self-image? What do people think about you? Better than looking beautiful or correct in the eyes of others is discovering yourself, really knowing who you are, being honest with yourself and with others, truly saying the "yes" and "no's" you want, accepting and coming out in their perfect imperfections, in their mistakes and successes, learn from them and become as aware as possible.
What you see in me you have in you. May we have less condemning looks and that we can find in the other our characteristics that we appreciate and those that we need to transmute.
