Questions to ask yourself throughout your life
posted by Deva Harischandra Jessica
Once, in a Biodanza class given by a facilitator that I greatly admire, he invited us to honestly look at our interior and our moment in life, and to ask ourselves three questions:
Am I where I want to be?
With the people I want to be with?
Doing what I want to do?
It can be painful to see that the answers are negative, but I consider it very necessary to look and understand yourself in this sense. It can be a first step to start transforming our lives, so that the answers can be “YES” to these questions.
Work, family, social environment, obligations, college, tasks, weights... How much life is there in ours? Are we living or surviving? taking only? Going like oxen to the slaughterhouse? Following without knowing where, without enjoying the walk?
How can we live lighter and more pleasantly? With more smile and less pain? With more partnership and less competition? With more acceptance and less judgment? With more love and less charges?
We are unique and plural and there is definitely no one answer that fits all people. Only each one of us can respond to himself, find the ways to heal from his pain, his anguish, his prisons and truly find himself in his real wants, needs, and see the countless possibilities that can lead to the life we want and deserve.
Therapy, self-care, different medicines, pleasurable physical activities, investments in yourself in the most varied ways, meditation techniques, caresses and loving looks with yourself and with your own history, seeing your own powers and putting them at the service of yourself and others, sharing real friendships and sharing the journey, loving yourself and sharing that love, finding reasons to smile and laugh, allowing yourself to dance and enjoy fun moments are true alternatives to facilitate our process.
We are often in places we don't want, doing what we don't want and with people we don't want to be. And all this makes it difficult for us to access our best, our love, our power of life.
So, let's ask these questions and when we get the answers, in a very sincere and honest way with ourselves, that we can welcome ourselves, breathe and seek within ourselves the best answers to transform what needs to be transformed, for an existence with fullness, love and that we consider can with all our truth be called LIFE.
