I decided to try Tantric Therapy ... And now, how to choose the therapist?

Deciding to try Tantric Therapy is already a big challenge. After all, due to a huge load of cultural values, conditioning and limiting beliefs, it is natural to imagine the most diverse scenarios of how Tantric Therapy is developed. But, for those who seek clarification, they end up realizing that it is serious work (quite serious, by the way), and it can be the path or a complementary path in the healing process of many people, or even, be an excellent tool of transformation and self-knowledge (and let's agree, right ?! Knowing yourself is a favor for yourself and the Universe!).

Sharing a little bit of my experience when I went to choose the professional for my first session (and OK that the experience is unique, because it is mine), I joined the Metamorfose Network, as I was already a reference of other people who indicated. There I came across several profiles. I clearly remember how difficult it was, because a universe of possible experiences is displayed there, after all, even if the therapist is only a tool for the process, the nature of the conduct of the work is fundamental to the success of the right choice , according to the purpose used in Tantric Therapy. Today, I am immensely grateful to the therapist who attended me, because thanks to his professionalism, Tantric Therapy was a watershed in my life (to the point that today I became a Tantric Therapist). And because of that, I have that feeling of wanting to be able to show the world, this possibility of personal development and healing.

Then, some suggestions of points to be observed, questions that I consider important for the choice of his / her professional, to better meet the need for what is sought.

Define the reason why you are seeking Tantric Therapy. This question is the central point, because although the method used by the Metamorphosis Network is the Deva Nishok Method, and is the main tool by which body therapy occurs, each therapist is unique in his line of work. Ask yourself, for example: is the search for therapy out of self-knowledge or curiosity? To treat some type of sexual dysfunction? For overcoming traumas or blockages? The reason for arriving at Tantric Therapy is very varied, but keep in mind what you want to work on in your process.

Read the therapist's profile carefully. Even if it is extensive and a little bit laborious, make a pre-selection of some profiles, and give yourself the time to carefully read the pre-selected profiles, to see which one best fits the purpose of your search. Pay attention to some information, such as training already carried out, previous experiences, language used to expose the line of therapeutic approach. See if in addition to the content displayed on the Metamorfose Network profile, there are links to access a personal page, or social media profiles, as these vehicles are also a way of disseminating the line of work of this professional. Note if the content of the work published, goes against the reason why Tantric Therapy proposes itself in its search context.

Do not judge only by the appearance of the profile photo. Certainly, the photo is part of the therapist's business card, and certainly, it must be someone who is within your standards of “presentable” judgment, and who, above all, inspires confidence and seriousness. However, do not stick to just that, because remember: the therapist is a tool that helps in your self-healing process. Weigh far more the question of the line of work that this professional uses, than the physical stereotype of the same.

Don't stick to the therapist's gender. It is very common to think of seeking a male therapist, if the person seeking therapy is a woman; as well, it is very common to think of seeking a female therapist, if the person seeking therapy is a man. There is a huge limiting belief in this (and that's okay, because reviewing conditioning is a time-consuming process!). The space that the therapist occupies during the session and during the process is neutral. The important thing is that you feel comfortable with your choice, but allow yourself to trust the technical capacity of the chosen professional, regardless of gender.

Contacting the chosen one. When communicating with the pre-selected therapist (s), or, already selected, ask everything you think is relevant to understand how the therapist's work is developed. It is the therapist's role to clarify how their therapeutic approach takes place. Pay attention to some issues such as: duration of the session (which usually lasts 1 hour and a half to 2 hours), place of care (if it is a place of therapeutic environment, such as specific tantric therapy units, or integrative therapies ), and mainly, to the posture taken by this professional when answering their questions.

Importance of biosafety rules. Ask about the use of disposable gloves and equipment, such as vibrators, to be properly capped. Make sure about the hygiene of the service place, and the structure for the possibility of showering, after the session.

Choosing the therapist properly is essential, as he / she will be responsible for conducting the session and the work to be performed. In addition, the bond of trust between the interacting therapist is a construction that begins from the first contact, and the important thing is that you feel comfortable and safe (a), because body development becomes possible as the ( a) Interactor feels free to indulge in the process. So, clarify everything that is relevant to you, and trust. And of course, welcome to a new universe of transformation, of possibilities to get to know yourself in another way, to reconnect, to reframe content, to overcome, to develop personally and to heal.

NEERA PREM, therapist affiliated with the Metamorfose Network.
