Many people find that name strange. I am asked if I am a foreigner. They find it strange and difficult to pronounce.
Deva Harischandra is my sannyas. It means “Divine Golden Shine”. I received it in October 2018, in a beautiful ceremony at the Comunna Metamorfose. I remember very fondly when Deepak Nitamo repeated my sannyas in my ear three times.
To be a sannyasin for me is to be a follower of Osho's teachings. Note that I said Osho's teachings, not Osho's. He himself taught us to be free, to lead a light, loving, fun life, to keep our inner child alive, to allow ourselves to laugh at ourselves, smile, play, meditate, celebrate, walk the path of acceptance and simply be in the flow of existence. Not to follow any master, not to submit to dogmas, rules, standards, prisons and social funds, but to give voice to our heart, to our truth, to love.
On page 188 of the book “The Mustard Seed (Vol. II)”, Osho says: “How to reject life's invitations? But you reject them. What is the mechanism of this rejection? People think that sannyasins renounce life. I tell you this is not right: only merchants renounce their lives; sannyasins enjoy life, they do not renounce life. In the eyes of the merchant and the tradesman, this resembles renunciation, but just the opposite happens: sannyasins simply enjoy life, they do not renounce anything. They enjoy it more intensely, that's all. They enjoy it so fully that if they die right now there will be no complaints. They will say, 'We live, we enjoy life. That's enough!' Even a single moment of life is a sannyasin's satisfaction. If he dies, he will be happy. But the trader - even in millions of lives will not be finished
On page 199 of the book “The Revolution - Conversations about Kabir”, Osho says: “And Kabir is an affirmative mystic. He never left his home, his wife, his children. He never went anywhere; never went to the Himalayas. He lived in his house, just the ordinary life of a homeowner - and he still became enlightened. He never escaped any situation. He remained rooted in the land: he was worldly and yet religious. And that is the highest synthesis.
And this is what I would like my sannyasins to be: Be in the world, because this world is the world of God. Search within life, and the deeper you go, the more you will discover that the world is transforming your qualities. The earth becomes the sky if you go deeper into it, the body becomes the soul if you go deeper into it. The question is just one of depth. ”
Sannyas is the path of meditation, it is being present, it is allowing yourself to transcend, to feel the unity, to delight in the smallest experiences of it, to connect with nature, to appreciate the beauties of life, to feel the energy of those who make our hearts vibrate, surrender, repay the love that was given to us, have a look of empathy, value simple and priceless things, live life in its totality and intensity, it's just being.
