VAGINISM, THE SILENT SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION

Many women do not know what vaginismus is, they only associate it with something related to the vagina because of the word resembling.
Vaginismus causes involuntary contractions in the inner part of the vagina, and this gets worse when the woman has sex, the discomfort of penetration causes pain and increases the contractions, as a mechanism to expel the penis or any object of penetration. Sometimes it is sacrificing to use tampons and depending on gynecological exams, it is quite painful.
But the question is, how does vaginismus develop?
Starting from the emotional side, women who have suffered some type of trauma, such as sexual abuse, have a great chance of developing vaginismus, the body creates a blockage and to protect itself rejects anything related to vaginal introduction. Abuses to close people or memories, even affective ones, with negative situations can contribute.
Unsatisfactory sex life is also an aggravating factor, and there are situations in which the difficulty in ending a relationship can also contribute to triggering the dysfunction. It is worth remembering that a completely inactive sex life contributes as much as the factors mentioned above.
The key starts to turn when we start with the principle that it is necessary to relax this musculature and then the treatment begins. Orgasm can be a great ally, spasms of pleasure will generate relaxation with the sensation of enjoyment, this can be practiced at the beginning with masturbation or massage, so that the body gains more confidence and a new conscious look at the vagina region . Follow-up with pelvic physiotherapy is also an excellent resource.
Vaginismus cannot be part of normality or conformity in a woman's life, it needs to be treated. Talk to your gynecologist, seek professional help. Your life will change for the better.
